Fancy a Bar with no electric, with only candle light to lead the way!? :)
Hambara (I think is the name) is a place I have never seen before, and will probably not find again in another city. Located down a side street, and then down what looks like someone’s path, through the garden and to a big wooden door, to which you have to knock to gain entry… there you find a gem in Sofia’s Night Life.
The only electric in the building, is to cool the beer, which at just over 1€ a bottle, is good value for the experience.
Please note, Health and Safety is not top on the agenda here, so if you drink too much, fall off the balcony and land on some candles, blame yourself, you have been warned!
Hidden in the shadows, you will find a mix of different arts, which will be easier to see once your eyes have adjusted and the beer has sunk in!
Cheers!
Planet Princess may sound like a dodgy club or seedy bar, but behind the doors of this establishment, you will find Sofia City’s Lost Amusement Arcade and Pool Hall.
Also is a Bar and Sat TV, to waste away the hours when you’ve had enough of walking the streets avoiding beggars and stray dogs. There are enough machines and tables to keep you occupied, although you need to purchase your tokens from the lady in the cage!! One leva = 2 tokens! Thats 0.25€ per go on most machines. Pool needs to be paid for in advance, with a 10 leva deposit, and change will be given afterwards.
Warning, don’t go too crazy on the air hockey, they WILL tell you off
Found to the left of the Casino main door, up the alley……
Have fun!!
